Olweus Bully Prevention Program

Lake Marie School, like all the schools in South Whittier, has adopted the Olweus program as a way of teaching and demonstrating positive relationships between students, staff, and the community.
This program is a perfect compliment to Lake Marie's 3 pillars of character:
(1)relationships
(2)respect
(3) responsibility.
The Olweus program inherently embodies our school vision and will keep Lake Marie an inviting place to be. At Lake Marie, it is our goal for all our students to feel safe and cared about academically/emotionally. Our Olweus coordinators are Mrs. Lucy Frias and Mrs. Roxanne Grago. The students watched video clips that reinforced respecting others and their property. An lastly, the importance of taking responsibility for oneself and our actions, because it is the "right" thing to do. The students embraced our Olweus program, and as a school, and we believe it will improve our school climate. Currently, Lake Marie is such a wonderful place to be and our staff feels privileged to interact daily with our talented Lake Marie Leopards! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Palomino.
