End-of-Year Update

Dear Parents,                                                                                      May 29th 2018

Wow!  I can’t believe Thursday, June 7th, is already the last day of the 2017-2018 school year.   It’s been a busy and productive year.  Our last day of school—Thursday, June 7th—will NOT be a minimum day as in years past.  Therefore, students will be dismissed at 1:55pm.  Report cards will be sent home with your child on the last day of school.

Beginning today, there will be no further homework assignments for the remainder of the school year.   Hooray!   During the summer, however, please do your best to keep your child reading, writing, practicing mathematics, and keyboarding so that he/she can have the best possible start to 4th grade.   Memorization of the multiplication facts 0 through 12 are of particular importance for success in 4th grade and beyond.  Visiting the local libraries in Whittier, La Mirada, and Norwalk is a fun and free way to keep your child reading.  Students will continue to have access to Imagine Learning, Moby Max, and Typing Club online programs throughout the summer.  Please have your child utilize these resources.

Thank you, parents, for recognizing that the educational success of your child is a three-way team effort between the parents, teacher, and student.  Your support has been very appreciated and beneficial to your child!  It has been my genuine pleasure to get to know your child and to impart knowledge to him/her. I hope to briefly reunite with your child as they start 4th grade in August of 2018. Have a wonderful and safe summer!
