Special Note:

• ALL students must return their library books.  If students cannot find the book, they must pay the price of the book, or donate a new book equal in price to the one that was lost.  Students have already been informed if they need to return a book.

End of year update:

Dear Parents,

Wow!  I can’t believe Thursday, June 8th, is already the last day of the 2016-2017 school year.   It’s been a busy and productive year.  Our last day of school--Thursday the 8^th--will be a minimum day, so students will be dismissed at 1:05pm.  Report cards and one complementary DVD of some 3rd grade memories will be sent home with your child on Thursday in a sealed envelope.

 

There will be no further homework assignments for the next 8 days of school.  Hooray!   During the summer, however, please do your best to keep your child reading, writing, practicing mathematics, and keyboarding so that he/she can have the best possible start to 4th grade.   Memorizing the multiplication facts 0 through 12 are of particular importance for success in 4th grade and beyond.  Visiting the local libraries in Whittier, La Mirada, and Norwalk is a fun and free way to keep your child reading.  Students will continue to have access to Imagine Learning throughout the summer.  Please have them utilize this resource.

 

Thank you, parents, for recognizing that the educational success of your child is a three-way team effort between the parents, teacher, and student.  Your support has been very appreciated and beneficial to your child!  It has been my genuine pleasure to get to know your child and to impart knowledge to him/her. I hope to briefly reunite with your child as they start 4th grade on August 16th, 2017.
